Thanks Guys for all the recommendations.
I fancy the Cuban Crafters one but can't find any in the UK.
Postage from the US makes it a bit expensive.
I'll have to keep an eye on fleabay.

Been to a factory in Yangzhou in China, they had Palio, Xicar even 1's stamped CAO Cohiba, Opus X, monty etc. millions of the buggers & they were all genuine!
So - good yes they are, worth it, in some ways...
I did pick up 'steal' an old style Palio, the non ergonomic type from a 50 gallon oil drum full which were to be re-cycled for the blades... hard life innit!

9 out of 10 times I will use my Palio. Have an Xikar and a CC Perfect but both not close to the Palio IMO. The Xikar Xi1 is a bit brutal maybe because of the thickish blades and the CC Perfect is a faff with the backguard thing.
Pallio cutter and blades have a lifetime warranty, new for old replacement.
The only little negative with the Palio...the little emblems fall off quite easily and get lost.

Cheers monkey I'll keep an eye out for that...Originally posted by Monkey Nuts View PostI have the Cuban Crafter Perfecto. It's superb. Mine came from ebay and cost less than ?15 inc. postage. The seller was called ecommerceaffinity but they don't seem to have any at the moment. Worth keeping an eye on ebay though.

Im unsure about the lifetime guarantee on the palio maybe someone else can shed some light on this? yes the palio is double bladed constructed in composite material very durable IMO an excellent cutter and as i said before has never ever let me down cuts perfectly everytime it also comes with a nice little pouch to keep it tucked away
. the only reason im seeking a cc perfecto cutter is that the palio is really the only decent cutter i have (apart from a few cheapy cutters which i never use) so should i ever misplace it id be lost that said i would happily purchase another palio, hope this helps

Does the Palio have a lifetime guarantee? If the CC fails or gets blunt then send it back and they will sharpen or replace it, no questions. If the Palio offers the same then it must be worth investigating after the several recommendation it has had.
Is it one or two bladed?

I have tried most cutters under the sun but adopted a punch a lovely old boy at Harrod's gave me over ten years ago and used that for many years, it is still on my keychain. That was until I tried the Cuban Crafters Perfect Cutter. There are three varieties of the one we talk about here, don't get one of the others, the ones with the small home in the rear that allows you to punch a torpedo cigar perfectly are the desirables. I ended up doing a group buy for the forum with a US friend on here ages ago. They are stupidly cheap for how good they are. Ajay has two of the three varieties available.
I want to try a Palio as a podcast from some yanks I listen to bangs on about them all the time. I want the carbon fibre look one but cannot bring myself to buy another cutter. If I do get one I will put a full review up. Maybe I should for the Cuban Crafters.
I recently jumped onto the ST Dupont bandwagon myself. After doing my research I decided I wanted the older ST Dupont Xtend. This is the original with the fuel window in the base and made in France (nothing is perfect I guess). The later revision is inferior IMHO, made in China and has the fuel window in the side. For the colours you would probably want you are looking at around ?120 in this country. If you can swallow having it in white then I can point you in the direction of the original Xtend for about ?65 new. I am very happy with it and actually very pleased with the white. The design of the lighter lends itself to a shirt pocket and being white it doesn't show through a white shirt. Darker shirts are not an issue.
It is not however the best lighter. That is the Dunhill Jetflame lighter. I have one but I had to save for it so it has only ever seen the outside of the presentation box once and that was for a trip to Ajay. These are expensive but SO SO SO good and the service at Dunhill blows my mind. If it breaks then they fix it, simple. Gone are the days of this sort of service most places.
The lighter I had been using was a gift from Jimmeh and a Bugatti, but the fuel reserve is TINY for such a chunky lighter, it ended up being very frustrating but it gets lots of compliments, they do not have to live with it, LOL.
If you want pics or more info or anything then just ask. Anybody chip in on the Palio then I would be eager to learn more.

I am with you ion this one Styler, when I cut I just use th ePalio, which I imported& saved a bit since then th eUK price seems to have come down a bit, avaialbe from our sponsers.Originally posted by Styler View PostI seem to be the odd one out with a Palio cutter. I love it as the blades are sharp and curved so you can make one big cut or take little snips off the cap like to you can with scissors.
If I lost this one I'd buy another in a flash.
Tend to just cut narrow gauge & torps, these days, punch the rest. Have just brought a lighter with punch attached, useful for going abroad
