  • UKCF Poker players?

    Hi everybody!

Since I'm new here I'll try my very best to learn who everybody is, hopefully in the shortest space of time!

I'm quite a passionate poker player, I play poker in university (we have a society) on a regular basis. I use PKR.com quite a lot, mostly for practice rather than playing for money. I do play at casinos sometimes too, a group of my friends and I try to head down once every week or so.

Anybody else a keen poker player? I love watching "late night poker" on Channel 4 too.

    Rick

I used to play a lot online; never for very high stakes though. I've slowed down a lot recently due to having to devote my time to other 'hobby projects' but still play once or twice a month. Mostly on PokerStars but have recently been loving the Rush Poker on Full Tilt.

We did try a regular tournament night on the forum but it was difficult as people found it difficult to commit the time. They were fun, the few I played in though!

Oh wow! How often were the tournament nights? This year was convenient for myself as I lived in halls, all of my friends were either on the same floor as myself or one below!

Ah they were online! Might be worthwhile seeing if we could find a venue in Cardiff as I'm sure there's another couple of cigar-smoking poker players who attend the Cardiff herfs. You know who you are.

A cigar/poker night would be awesome! I'd be up for that, as long as you don't mind a "kid" coming along :P

I don't want to embarrass you all with my poker skills anyway !

Superb! I was going to create a thread about this very subject but one's already here!

I work as the Business Development Manager for a very well known online poker site fronted by one of my most popular UK poker players. Can I say who?

I was thinking either a tournament league, private cash game table or both played once a week would be really cool. Means we could all hook up, play some poker, have a chat and most importantly have a smoke from the comfort of our own homes.

If there's enough interest (I'd say around 20 people) I could add some prizes, maybe a fine smoke each week.

                          What's everyones thoughts on that?

I can also arrange live games too. Basically, if it's poker you want, I'm your guy!

I'd defiantly be up for taking part, if you can get enough people interested let me know the details

I'm an online-only (so far) man - mostly 32red, but PartyPoker when it goes stale there... Tend to stick to tourneys and not cashgames (cash is cash, for goodness sake...) and I'm currently in a study phase - working through Dan Harrington's books at the mo (great writer, btw).
An online Tourney League sounds like a great idea. I'd be up for that...
