Let's organise a BHK56-only herf and get 'em smoked. Obviously, somewhere that has a good supply of alcohol.
The corncob pipe is an excellent choice judders. They are a cool smoke and dont need burning in.I have a dozen or so Briars a couple of Falcons and three Meerschaums. Its the CC that i am smoking most these days!.
I love the cob pipe Judders, I'm wondering if a pipe would be a good purchase for me over the winter. Having never smoked one (well not a tobacco one) I have no idea what to expect. Do the pipe tobaccos have any similar characteristics to Cubans? Also if I buy a really cheap pipe for a tenner will I get the same experience as a taster?
I have to give all credit to c10cko for the CC pipe, I didn't have a clue what to buy and Craig helped me. I smoked it for the first time yesterday with some Hobbit's Weed, loved it. [emoji2]
Tommy, I'd say go for it. You can get a kit - including a CC - for ?20. I reckon it's worth a go at that price.
Just had a squint at the kit at ?19.99.Seems very good value and a good start. There are 5g samples of baccy around to try too to see which ones you like.Once the type of bowl material is chosen next is straight or bent stem.I like the bent stem.As a "wet"smoker i find that it helps.

Dint think of them as a comparison to Cubans mate..., think of them more as a cup of Tea in comparison to a Cigar (Coffee). Thats about the best analogy I can come up with.
Its a different experience, for me a cigar is more of an occasion while a pipe is more of a background highlight to my day.
If I was forced at gun point to give up one or the other Pipes or Cigars, I would be hard pushed to choose.... Though I wonder if Pipes might just edge it...
Same with beer and spirits... In my head Spirits are the Cigar of the equation and Beer is the Pipe... As much as I love spirits, I think beer would win that battle too.... Possibly...
Im just glad I don't have to choose.

I know its a big jump but honstly i enjoy my pipe so much more since i got a couple of better ones. A cob was nice to test the water but bear in mind it gets much better.
