  • 98, not out

Over the past 10 days, various packages have been arriving, though nothing as exciting as RCH's '99 Punch Coronas I'm afraid. Indeed, I'm at the opposite end of the calendar.

So, between Thursday last week and yesterday, the following arrived:

    Montecristo No 4s (Jul 14)
    AB Black Market Toros
    Partagas Shorts (Sep 13)
    Partagas D4s (Jun 14)

... and an AB Black Market Churchill

98 altogether. This is my first big purchase - a bit of newbie over-excitement, but also a sense that I've found some cigars I really like and want to be able to enjoy again and again. The paradox seems to be that they're so new, I should leave them alone, so I've got boxes of my current absolute favourites and I can't (or shouldn't) smoke them!

Why 'not out'? Well, this isn't quite the end of October's reckless (but fun) adventure with the credit card and I'm still waiting on something else to arrive.

I remember your first post about digging some old cigars out of the attic attic and YLW not being keen on the idea. I told you it was a slippery slope into obsession.

Look out for when we do splits as I generally buy aged stock so we can smoke them now

There's nothing in the Rules which says cigars mustn't or shouldn't be smoked as soon as you buy them. 2014 Monte 4 are superb by all accounts, you'll be fine with the Partagas Shorts, I don't like PSD4 but others swear they are OK to smoke young .... and for NCs age is yesterday.

        Nice looking smokes .... enjoy!

Thanks for all the comments and advice. Much appreciated - feels like a really big moment in my new pursuit. PeeJay is absolutely right - I am completely obsessed already.

Unfort my little girl took very sick after my post, so delayed my getting back to say thanks and asking yet more questions! I'll be back!
