Goodies from Istanbul

Had to spend this week in Istanbul on work and the airport happens to have a nice selection of cigars at great prices, so I ended up with this nice haul :

Got to love Istanbul

Epicure de Luxe is one of the best LCdH releases out there. Very underrated, forutnately .
One looks like it has a laceration on the foot. Looks like it's up first to the burn!

Wide Churchills and Mag50s are great pickups. Amazing when young and IMHO not worth ageing for too long. Smokeable fresh - very, very good. And nice on the winter smokes. 75 JlPs

Got to love Istanbul

I didn't enjoy being there (although I mainly saw the inside of a hotel & conference centre), but I had fun at the airport!

I go a couple of times a year I love it, the airport duty free is just a extra bonus and you can buy on the way in too

It was my second visit and I enjoyed the first visit much more.

This time around - and probably understandable given the current goings on - it felt a lot more tense and everyone was really hot on security, which put me on edge a bit. The outbound BA pilot prior to take-off asked us all to remain vigilant during the flight an report anything suspicious. Our minibus from Istanbul airport was checked by security with a mirror (on a stick) before being allowed onto the hotel grounds. They had an x-ray and metal detector before being allowed into the hotel and corporate security told us that we were only allowed to use their arranged travel methods for any journeys within Istanbul.

It might just be everyone being over cautious, but given the choice, I'd personally pick a different location for future conferences!
