  • Martinez Cigars

Two years ago when I was fortunate enough to visit NYC I had planned to visit the Martinez cigar factory at 171 West 29th Street but didn't manage to get there. My son has just returned and made a point of visiting for me. He said it was like a Cuban's front room with a bunch of guys sitting around rolling cigars. He picked me up this sampler box for $50 and the guy in the shop swapped out one of the sticks as he knew I don't like peppery cigars. I removed a couple of cellos to show the wrappers.

      • Now there's a good lad! Sounds like a great and alternative sight to visit as well. These need some time to rest or factory fresh and good to go?

          • Partagas double hit

Off to the sorting office today to pick these up and pay the import duty. First up a box of Partagas Anejados corona gordas which I shared with some friends

            21462681_10155817349261654_3256159647638983481_n.jpg21462715_10155817349296654_2296890274725374385_n.jpg

And a little box of D6. I've not heard a lot of good things about these but I like the size and decided to find out for myself.

            • They look good. I'd be interested to know which country they came from and how much you get stung for customs.

                  • Twelve little piggies

I love the flying pig vitola and having enjoyed a couple of larger Undercrown Shades I couldn't resist when I saw this box at a good price, pork this weekend for sure! Another great presentation from Drew Estate as well.

                    • I smoked one of these babys a couple of weeks ago - like yourself, i just loved the look of them all lined up in their little piggy box!

I know you have a sweet tooth, and these sure as hell deliver on that - i know the flavour thread is HOT right now, but god i swear on my own ancestors i get the flavour of candyfloss for a good 10 mins in this smoke - though i may have been having a stroke (easy tiger) at the time

                      • They look great Peejay. Am partial to the Undercrown brand but so far prefer the regular to shade grown. Yet to try the Flying Pig vitola. What's the smoking time on them?
