I've had one in June. I found it a little one sided flavor wise in the first third but it became much better from the second third on. It's a rather mild to medium strength stick that took me around 2 hours to smoke it if I remember this correctly. But it was interesting to smoke the "cigar of the year".

    • I have absolutely no will power at all. Walked into the cigar store today to fetch another box of Monte Dantes (I checked 7 boxes, they all sucked: underfilled and/or ugly wrappers) and came out with this. I just couldn't resist. They had quite a few out of production and hard to find cigars on offer, I could have gone crazy in there but didn't (at least that's a good thing).

BHK 52 at retail () three days before Cohiba prices rise in France. They had three boxes, two sucked. One box contained sticks with foot damage and the other one had a stick that wasn't cut straight. Cuban quality control

      I also went for this:

And I got this one just for fun (they had three 2003 boxes and a handful of singles):

      • Stuff will power (it's so over rated!) - that is a fantastic steal !!!
Only the impossible is worth the effort.

        • Extremely jealous, great buys.

Are prices in France regulated like they are in Spain?

            Cheers!

Yes prices are regulated here in France, which is a good thing IMO.

            • I agree, saves the need to shop around for the best prices leaving more time for smoking

How do the prices compare? I'm assuming way cheaper than the U.K. but slightly higher than in Spain?

                True!

You got it right but there are a few boxes that are cheaper here than in Germany (don't know the Spanish prices without checking). Trini Fundis, Monte Dantes, CORO, Lanceros and a few more. Go figure...

                • Intereting, sounds like the higher end of the market is cheaper so I'd guess it's the way the taxes and tariffs are applied. Maybe there's a higher flat rate applied on a per cigar or per gram basis in France so the cheaper cigars are more heavily taxed as a % of overall costs than the more expensive ones. Just a guess though

Maybe, I sure would like to know how they do their pricing. There are also two distributors here. I just checked the Spanish price list and some Cohibas are cheaper here in France as well. But the Cohiba prices will go up here on Monday, I don't know by how much though.

I believe that the BHK 52 can't be found much cheaper anywhere (except for Andorra maybe), they were much cheaper than in Germany and Spain. A flippers paradise....

                        Nice try.

I would have purchased all of them if I wanted to flip them. The box I got will be going to sleep for a few years.

                        • Nice additions! It's crazy to think there are "ugly" boxes of Behike, as they are supposed to be the top of the range amongst Cubans. Quality control...
