Released today, I asked for 10 to 15 boxes to help out my greedy friends but they only received 10. To make everyone happy 10 of their best customers each got one box. They don't have a clue when more will come in. 9tlf.jpg

Cheers Al. 1962 is a very tough year. since the USA impossed the embargo in Feb. 1962. I have a couple of pre embargo cigars from 1960/61 but there's a hole in my collection from 1962 to the late 1960s. I haven't been able so far to trade for or buy any, nor have I seen any. The 1970s stuff comes up quite a bit but I don't pull the trigger that much because they are a bit expensive and I never manage to find any bigger vitolas. My unicorn is a Partagas Lusitanias in the discontinued 109 vitola but I have never seen one.

Very nice I love the packaging on those singulares, they're in amazing condition for 50+years old aswell.

And they probably are still good smokes. I had one from the 1980s last summer and it was really good. I was amazed by how good an old machine made cigar could be. Looking forward to smoke one of these in a few months after they had a good rest.

I went out for a smoke with some friends today, one of whom I hadn't seen for over a year. He brought some cigars that I purchased from him a year ago. Some nice vintage stuff among them:

1970s H. Upmann Singulares

H. Upmann Coronas Major, one form the 1970's, the other one is a pre-embargo one from the early 1960s.One of the tubes has a push on cap. They look like the smaller hand made version and not the machine made one but it's hard to measure them correctly as cigars that old tend to shrink a little.

1 Partagás Super Partagás from 1989 (Cubatabaco)

1 Fonseca Fonseca No.1 probably from the 1980s. Note that they still had aluminium foil under the tissue back then.

A petacas of Mag 50 from the original release, AGU NOV 08. Note that the release date for the tubos on CCW as wrongly stated as circa 2009.

Yes, you're quite the youngster, lol. Mine is 1970. I might have one from my birth year without knowing... I'm still chasing but it really isn't easy, but quite a few stores here in Paris applied those date stamps to boxes so I might get lucky.

Cheers Neil! I will smoke the ones that I have 2 off. It's a little harder to smoke the ones that I only have a single off as I like to collect cigars like these. But I have a friend who has a lot of cigars and he will look if he can find more like these for me. With a bit of luck I'll get a second one of some that I already have and they will definitely be smoked then.
