Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro courtesy of groundhog. Took the liberty of taking a pic of the collection whilst I was there too.

Had to find a use for them, we had about 20 of them after our wedding reception.

Very nice especially the BHK 52's. Have you had any of them yet? If so are they worth ?90 a stick (cgars prices) I'm not sure I could bring myself to smoke one at that price!

I had a 52 when they were ?28. It was a great stick at that price but it sure I'd willingly pay more than that for one, certainly not a ?90 cigar IMO.

                      Nice collection there Dwain.

Valve of cigars as in any other product, it's worth what any fool is willing to pay. I have enjoyed a few 52's, a 54 & 56 now & they are certainly good cigars. Personally, when compared with other cigars in the Habanos range, I'd put the 52 in the ?35-?45 range. For aged or 1st year production a bit more. But I had the chance to buy boxes of each at St Kitts LCDH & declined as I wasn't prepared to pay $750 as box. For me an aged Sig VI is better value & a 10yr old Lanceros beats them both but then the Laguito No1 is my kinda stick.

I have paid over E100 each for some single Davidoff's & I was happy they were extra special & 'worth' it, especially the 3000 I smoked at the Nacional History Bar but I understand why most wouldn't pay that much for a cigar but might on a bottle of wine? For me the history & aging of a cigar is worth something but a cigar that's straight off the production line or EL's with a 2 or 3 yr old wrappers aren't worth paying much over the odds for. Just be patient & age your own, then even straight production can be enjoyed at their best.

EDIT: Just seen Wigan's post of CASC's prices & the 52 is within my suggested price range!

Agreed, ultimately these are ‘worth’ ?90 a stick because that’s what the market has shown they will go for. Are they value for money at that, well that’s subjective but I think most would say no from a smoking point of view. As an investment, fashion statement, status symbol, feel good factor or a scratch you have to itch, again subjective but they may just tick the boxes in that regard. Anyway, I’ll undercut cgars, shall we say ?89.99?
