  • Tested positive for CAD?

    While I may be kept safe from COVID-19 while on lock down I think I am developing early symptoms of CAD. Before the lock down I was happy to purchase the occasional sampler here or there, maybe a box of 3-5 cigars at a time if I was feeling like I really wanted to treat myself. I rarely smoked more than 3-4 times in a month. However things have drastically changed, in the last few months I've purchased;

    10 PSD4s
    25 Partagas Shorts
    25 La Flor De Cano Petit Coronas
    25 Cohiba Siglo II

    As I write this post I am about to confirm an order for a box of 25 RyJ Churchills. What's the diagnosis doc? How long do I have left?

    Hmm. Sounds like a new strain on the back account. Storage stress. The futures bright. Spills over onto affect the partner to if there is one. Signs are suspicion of hiding things, raised eyebrows. You'll start to feel Postal anxiety stress disorder. Spending more time alone contemplating. More time on the internet. Could cause distress.

    Enjoy the journey! I am! May health and fortune provide.

      A useful line for future use is 'How many shoes/handbags do you have?'
      'Cigars are a hobby, cigarettes an addiction'

          Yes, I can confirm the early signs of CAD all seem to be present, next you'll be buying two boxes of the same cigar so you can smoke one & age the second. Then having them delivered to work as not to trouble your wife from the postman knocking when you're away & then sneaking them into the house when she's out. One day she finally notices you have have increased the number of humi's/coolidors & you're rumbled. You'll reassure her that you have enough now & you won't be buying any more... After that you are off the slippery slope on on to the to helter skelter, doesn't make you a bad person, just a CA of great taste & less wealth.

            Is this your observation of my situation or a confession about yours?

                          This! Just wait until you hit the final stage of CAD. By then you will have a few thousand sticks and still buy a few boxes every month [emoji23]

                            And then you start lying here. You'll keep your purchases quiet. You stop posting your purchases... for a while. Because you think people have had enough or they'll be shocked or worried for you. They might even start ridiculing your CAD. Then you start positing them again. And lying again like you have no space. Or that's it, now it you're on a hiatus .. again, but then something comes up. Then you might even have a sell off. That's a few years in. But all that fuels is some confidence. Then you start buying stuff again.

                            It's quite bad when you see it like that.

                            But its also an investment so it cant be bad, right? But then you're burning your investment one small fire at a time. Little arson episodes.

                            What a way to go...

                              Story of my life except for the investment part. When I sell cigars the money from it is used to buy cigars. [emoji2373]
