Picked up a box of COROs (UMR-DIC-2019) but was surprised to see how dark the wrappers were... almost look maduro, certainly a lot darker than the ones I’ve got from NOV 11..

Anyone else noticed this with other Cohibas? (Hope I’ve not got a dud box!!)

They certainly look darker than CoRo usually are but if you know your source, you should be fine

Happy with the source, but have dropped an email just to get their thoughts...

They smell great anyway! Will be leaving for another 6-12 months before firing...

Lol, many are looking to get darker boxes! It's Cuba, colour varies dramatically. All good...

I once grabbed a few singles that were dark like yours for fun in Germany because they are quite uncommon with this wrapper shade and I wanted to see if there's a difference. They have been ageing for a few years now but still aren't ready to be smoked (for me at least as I like my CoRo to have at least five years on them).

Last box I picked up a few months ago were dark as well, I compared them to my Genios and they are just a shade lighter, and much darker than my Medio Siglos.

Fair enough. Does make you wonder whether you should stick to “new world” when spending big bucks. Just too much variation with Habanos...

Got some Padrón on the way, in theory much better guarantee of what I’m buying...

Haha don’t worry, 95% of my humidor is still Cuban!

Boli RCs from 2014 pretty great at the moment so I’m not a lost soul!

The more I smoke, the fewer Cubans I buy. Arguably, NCs are far better value for money and I would even argue that they offer more variety in flavours at lower prices without having to store them for years. But most of all, you often get better quality for less money.

I directly go for dark wrapper Cubans and also Cohiba, I think they’re good. I’d happily take that box of your hands depending on price of course😎

BRC is indeed a top cigar

Niels - I am fast coming to the same conclusion. I still love my Cubans for sure! but a lack of consistency and good quality control is still a far off dream for most Cuban cigar production.

They look fine to me. Nothing to worry about.
