Max ERDM's are all great: starting from the D.T. (down to my last 5boxes) , the Choix Supreme is indeed a supreme post luncheon smoke, the Panatela Largos/Elegentes are exquisite, if rather expensive to buy at auction these days. All ERDM's age well & after we have just been discussing aging Hoyo's, although ERDM are smokable young, they certainly improve well with age. The D.T.'s at 5yrs are as young as I like to smoke but 20yrs+ they reach another level. Back in the day, a few of us (Martyn being one) managed to secure some from 1990 (19yrs old at the time), over 25yrs old+ when I finish my boxes. I had several on Christmas Day's with a glass of Champagne, a charming way to start the celebrations.
My PL's are from the '70's & I picked up the wooden slide box at auction. 28RG isn't for everyone (luckily!) & I hate to say it but in my experience I have to agree with MRN, it really is a C.A.'s cigar. It has to be smoked slowly or it over heats & you'll loose the more delicate flav's. Too slow & it'll keep going out & re-lights don't help it either or the experience. I chose to enjoy the first with a Cubita & the latter half with a Palm or soft rum.

Top ten Fav smokes is much easier than the usual single fav cigar, so here goes. They are all Havana's, as I don't smoke enough NC's to have an opinion, apart from I have never found one that comes close to my top 30 Cuban. I will also list only those still in the current Habanos line up so you can actually get hold of them to try them out.

I’m not too familiar with a lot (pretty much any) NC’s but Oliva Serie V and AF are both solid choices for me.
Also some great suggestions given from both above. What has been your favourite so far? Is there a particular profile you enjoy?
All I would add is probably to buy multiples of everything, smoke one and let one rest for as long as possible before revisiting. I tend to smoke one higher end cigar and one cheapie each week, fills the desire without killing the wallet.
The COTM is also great to get involved with, sometimes you get something with decent age, other times you smoke something you would never have thought about otherwise. Either way it’s a great way of sampling lots of different cigars and it’s fun to try and pick out flavours and make assumptions of what it could be.

Apologies, I missed the questions amongst your advice......
It really is early days but somewhat confusing, in that I commenced with and thoroughly enjoyed a Upmann HC but when I tried a second one a few weeks later, I was disappointed! I then moved onto an Epi No 2 and although, once again I enjoyed smoking it, I was left feeling nauseous. (thankfully following advice from this forum, this problem has not returned). Since then I've tried AF Don Carlos Belicoso, a number of Choix supreme, RyJ cedros de luxe and enjoyed them immensely.
So, my journey continues - thanks everyone for your opinions and advice.
