Hope you enjoy them - It would be good to hear what the classicos are like because I haven't tried them yet. I've heard that they're a bit less strong than the anticos / toscanellos, so they might be a bit more suitable for a morning smoke (I should probably have had a good meal before that toscanello, but I still enjoyed it).

I've just realised that my last post sounded way too much like an advert - but I did really enjoy the toscanello!

I sat down with a cup of black coffee this morning to try my first ever toscanello. I sparked it up, took a big puff, and was immediately struck by how strong it was - much stronger than, say, a Boli PC.

After recovering from this initial assault, I realised that this little stick was really tasty, and got lots of notes of earth, wood and leather, which went really well with my coffee. There was no real flavour progression, but it stayed tasty all the way down and didn't become too bitter or in any way unpleasant. By the time it was finished, I was wishing that it had lasted longer. If you want a substitute for the smoothness and sophistication of a good Cuban, then toscanellos might not be for you. But if you're looking for a rougher, more rustic smoke packed full of flavour and character, then look no further! I'll definitely be buying another pack when I've finished this one.

+1. And a stoneware or ceramic jar sounds about perfect for storing.

IMO they are very nice but a bit of a acquired taste.

I also find the taste gets worse if you store them in your normal humidor so i just leave them in the little foil lacks in a zip lock bag.

I've got a pack of Toscanellos (they're basically the same as the Anticos but half the size) in my humi but I haven't tried them yet - I was thinking of smoking one tomorrow so I'll let you know what I think.
