Haha! Don't be concerned with se?or CIV's (Cohiba IV) comments. He's an emotional, passionate hombre and sometimes that passions goes to his head - both big and small!

As for your questions - It's always been my understanding that the Opus X and the Anejo share the same innards, just different wrappers.

But having said that, based on my limited experience with these fine NCs, the quality of the two can vary quite a bit from year to year - like fine wine - some years are excellent and some years not so much. I submit that se?or CIV's "kick ass" comment is based on a comparison of sticks from two different years.

If your #55 (fifty-five) is anything like the one I enjoyed last night, you should fetch a very nice puro in exchange.

Know what! Now that you mention it....I think there's a Anejo Shark resting comfotably in don TJ's massive unit. I think I'll go liberate it from storage and pair it with a jigger or two of fine Havana Club Rum.

Thanks for the mind jog, se?or VDGuy! You're the best!

UPDATE: My mistake....it was a Anejo #55. Smoking it anyway! Cheers!

Ahhh, got it...an exception TO the rule.

I haven't really smoked that many to be honest so can't really say one way or the other. A somewhat less expensive alternative which I have smoked many times is the cousin to the Opus X - the Anejo. Same guts as the Opus X with a differnt wrapper.
