I have been doing a little digging into this area of the hobby and have put together a small
selection of sticks on my shortlist to try out. They are as follows:

Davidoff Ambassadrice
Quorum Short Robusto
Davidoff 1000
Arturo Fuente Short Story
Arturo Fuente Cubanitos
Luis Martinez Hamilton Robusto


Are there any on this list that you would avoid at all costs, and are there any you would recommend that I
consider adding to the list? I do want to give NC's a fair crack of the whip.


I am not going to go mad and order lots of them, but I will start to add the odd one to every order I place.

Off the top of me head, I would add the A. Fuente Hemingway Signature (better than the short story, IMO).

I would also include a great value stick - A. Fuente 858 (claro, maduro, and/or natural)

Did you have a look at my Favourite NC of 2014 post? You'll find some sticks there that people liked a lot.

Quorums I quite liked when I started smoking but a few months ago I tried one and hated it. Maybe a bad one or maybe my palate has changed...But as you are beginning your cigar journey I'd recommend trying one.

Another Good priced NC is a Villa Zamorano Robusto...Had a few of those...Great for their price point. In my humble.

Oh Yeah! I forgot about the Davidoff Gran Cru line. A Coro Favorite!

Not a big fan of the Oliva Series V, but clearly I'm in the minority here.

I think it was mentioned in the top cigars thread, but I tried a Flor De Las Antillas at the weekend and it is now my favourite cigar. Absolutely wonderful stuff.

Seconded on the Oliva V.

I got a cheapo from Dubai which turned out to be a really good smoke - Don Diego Anniversario.
