  • Regius Cigars

My local cigar shop in Edinburgh is doing a 5 cigar sampler of Regius - I've never tried them before - are they worth a shot?

    Cigars in the sampler are:

    Regius Petit Robusto Cigar
    Regius Gran Toro Cigar
    Regius Grandido Cigar
    Regius Robusto Cigar
    Regius Corona Cigar

I do stress that I do not work for the shop and this is not an ad!!!!
I'm just interested to hear if anyone has tried them

I'm a fan having tried the Robusto and Grandido. The Robusto in particular was a nice smoke, around 50 mins for me with a decent, consistent flavour. If you do take the plunge let me know how you go with the Gran Toro.

Just out of interest what is the Sampler retailing at?

They both seem pretty good deals, I'll have to look out for them in my local b&m.

IMO they would be ok at international prices, as it is I think they are priced too highly for what they are.

The Robusto is VERY nice. Wasn't a massive fan of the corona but it was by no means unpleasant.

Went through 2 boxes of petit robustos when starting and can say they do have there moments but some can be a bit 1 dimensional

I had the short robusta and didn't like it very much at all. Tasted and smelled like stale smoke and I had the taste well into the next day. My missis normally loves the way I smell after I've smoked a good cigar but after this she couldn't stand to be near me. She said I smelled like stale smoke too

I have a few robusto lying and agree they are ok but there are better for the money

Regius Exclusivo USA and Limited Editions are great cigars.

I haven't had much experience with the White Label made by Quesada in the Dominican but the Black Label in my view is a very solid line, I find it a very consistant product and a very pleasurable smoke in general. Also very decent prices for the UK.

I shared a Regius culebra with a pal a wee while ago. It's such a novel vitola that it sat in my humidor for a year or two looking interesting and got a few comments. So when it came to smoking it was delicious and I would definitely buy one again.

I find them a little bland, if they were half the price they would be okay but overpriced for what they are.
