  • Wall Estate Family Reserve No. 1

I didn't quite know where to put this thread but as its non-Cuban then I thought here was the best place. As a bit of fun I thought I'd try and make my own cigar so I bought some leaves from Whole Leaf which is a UK based website that sells whole tobacco leaves. I bought one of their cigar kits and it came within 3 days.
So here is the result, the Wall Estate Family Reserve No. 1, or probably Failure No. 1 more like, haha

To be fair the pack is firm and the draw is pretty much spot on (I tested before adding the double cap) so I'm quite pleased with the end product. It has an Ecuador Maduro wrapper with Nicaraguan and Dominican filler. Only took me about an hour to make including press time and check out that cabeza tumbada cap Hopefully it smokes well, I'll keep you updated and if it actually nice then I'll make a few and send them out to whoever wants one haha

    Happy smoking,
    Matt

Very impressive. The cap looks like one of the fakes I brought back from the DR. I suggest you carefully punch it.

That looks very well made Matt. I've thought about heading over to whole leaf before, but never got 'round to it. You've peaked my interest again.

                    Looking forward to the review.

Thanks for the great feedback guys, I'm glad you like it. I was very pleased when I put the wrapper on as it just sort of finished the cigar off, before it looked messy but that Maduro wrapper does work wonders. I'm just going to let it dry for a week or two and then I'll smoke it and update you all!

I look forward to hearing how it smokes. Looks like a damn fine job for a first attempt. I've never even thought about doing something like that - though it's probably best that it stays that way given my last cack-handed attempt at an Airfix kit...
