Personally wouldn't go for the Herrera as I'm not a big fan of Nicaraguan. I've not had the Perdomo and Padrons are reknowned for being strong if that's what you like. If they're available try an Arturo Fuente Don Carlos.

Gahhhh I am always a fan of Nicaraguan out of the NCs - will switch Padron to Perdomo as I'm not huge on v strong (didn't realise they were)
Don't know why I thought asking would help my troubled mind. Anyhow the order is in. 5 of each of the following:
Herrera Esteli Lonsdale Deluxe Fuente King T Fuente Short Story Perdomo Champagne Churchill
Now just hoping my friend from the states decides she's still happy to do it : )
I remember having a few Perdomos in the past and found them unimpressive; binworthy as I recall. Now, the Fuente Short Story (maduro, if you can find it) and almost any Fuente Hemingway/don Carlos stick will serve you well, as will the top-shelf Padrons, as others have mentioned.
Choose well, chico!

I was torn between the Perdomo and Padrons, I know I love the Short Story (never tried it in maduro, though we did get ONE box that sold instantly when I was at Smokin' Cigar). Had the 1964 Principe in maduro and was underwhelmed, hence why I gave the Perdomo a shot - will let you guys know my thoughts anyway : )

After my last post, I decided to crack open ol’ don TJ’s not-so-massive NC unit where I found a few robusto/toro size Perdomos encased in an attractive gold and yellow-tinted cellophane. Quite an attractive presentation, actually. So much so I had to have one.
After a quick referral to the don’s journals, I learned they are over a decade old. So, I decided to dust one off, spark it up and see if my initial impressions still held. Well, I have to admit, time has served this stick well - a rarity among NCs, according to most NC aficionados, since they have a tendency to be properly aged and ready to enjoy the day you pick one up.
Anyway, I enjoyed it enough to try another one this weekend....maybe the gold wrapper this time.
