There is a difference between the Partagas and Cohiba. It's all a matter of taste but I prefer the Partagas. Best Price: Here. http://www.mysmokingshop.co.uk

Best all round price on Cuban mini's is currently Tesco. 10 x Montecristo at ?4.50. Fortunately my Supermarket sells loads so the stock is always fresh and smoke really well. I personally rate the Monte's, they're slightly sweeter than the Partagas.

didnt realise tesco stock monte's?! WOW! ill have to check soon!!!

theyre not bad, but i prefer the montecristo minis. The good thing with the cafe cremes is that they dont stench up the room because of the aroma

Try the ERDM Demi Tasse, Finest & Smallest hand made Cuban IMHO I used to smoke Cafe Creme's before I started on Havanas but can't go back, there is no real comparison, if you haven't got time for a demi tasse, wait until you have. It's not an addiction, it's supposed to be a pleasure

Found this very interesting article on 'dry-cured', European cigarillos:

In Europe, the Cigarillo, or Short, Dry-Cured Cigar, Sells. In America, it Has Never Caught On. | Cigar Aficionado

Worth a read for anyone interested in the quality standards and/or manufacturing process of mini cigars like Cafe Cremes.

Although dry-cured, I've stored Cafe Cremes in my humidor, which seemed to moisten them up a bit and, in my opinion, improved them. Although they are 'dry-cured' I've also had Cafe Cremes that seemed spongey-fresh straight out the tin. I think it really boils down to how long they've been on the newsagent's shelf, although the dry-curing process is supposed to make this a non-issue.

Come to think of it, Cuban minis are rarely seen in humidors (airport, tesco, etc), so I'm assuming they're 'dry-cured' too (Not sure if someone can confirm this?), which would suggest that their being more moist in your opinion is down to something other than being Cuban or of a higher quality.

As for the 'quality of tobacco' argument I see people, including me in the past, often using? Well, nowadays I'm unconvinced that the tobacco used in Cafe Cremes is of a lower quality than some (maybe all) of the Cuban Minis. The Cuban Minis might taste better to some of us, but I think much of it is subjective.

Smoke what you like and like what you smoke.

    Works for me every time.

Sad to say we don't have a Waitrose in Aberdeen (that I know of) but I'll have to shout at staff in Asda and Tescos as to why they don't stock minis or tubos when other branches do.

    Monte Puritos
    Cuban Tubos
La Paz (NC) Minis (Better than Cafe Cream).

    Tesco:
    Monte Mini

    Asda:
No Cuban Mini's but some Cuban Tubos

    Morrison:
    No Cuban Minis

When I tried the cohiba mini's they were from a mate who bought them "for a laugh" and had no ideas about cigars. I think they'd been sitting in his jacket pocket for a month so they may not have been a great representation!

I've had the Cohiba minis which I would say are better that CCs but not sure if the extra cost is justified. If CCs age well though then maybe the cuban minis would age even better.

I'd quite like to try the Partagas minis. For anyone who has tried them and the Cohibas, was there much difference?

Hi folks. I just want to add that I brought a few hundred Caf? Cr?mes back from Spain and put them all in a humidor, minus tins.

I am quite surprised to note how they've changed over a month or so. They have mellowed slightly, the draws have firmed up a bit and the flavour has improved dramatically.

To be honest, they are easily as enjoyable as anything of this size I've smoked; Cuban minis included.

    Shock! Horror!

Seriously, they have ceased being acceptable and have become delightful.

Why not buy a tin and give it a go for yourselves if you remain unconvinced.

These have truly become a bargain everyday short smoke for me.
