  • M.X.S. Tiago Splitter

The MXS series is from the same manufacturer that makes the slightly cheaper Pichardos. Ace Prime Cigars.

This is their signature line, which comes in 3 variations.

The Tiago Splitter is the first of its kind that I tried and halfway through the cigar I'm blown away.

It's a mild but very potent cigar. Perfect balance of spices, cream, wood and earthiness.

A flawless construction fits well with the perfectly white ash and a perfect draw.

I dare say, this is a NC that every Cuba afficionado will enjoy. A must try for anyone who enjoys NCs for sure.

Hi Nils, enjoying your new home as much as the cigar?

Very much so... We had nothing to do to the house, except for decoration. Already picked 6kg of red currant and tons of other stuff coming up all the time. We get honey from the bees in the meadow behind the house. What's not to like...

Hi buddy - sounds like you are keeping well. Gorgeous view you have there! Sounds like you are finding more NC’s to recommend 👍

I'd urge anybody to try anything from Ace Prime. It's a smaller company that grows and ferments all its tobacco themselves. And they create some wonderful stuff from Nicaragua.

All handled independently in terms of distribution by Jon Huber from Crowned Heads which is nice too, Crowned Heads have a few cigars made there.

2021 Las Calaveras soon Niela 😁

Yeah! Sadly I'm a bit tight with money and I'm saving to get a box of the new Dalay limitada, which will be a DC this year. So I think I might just get a handful of this year's Las Calaveras.

Crowned heads is definitely a company to try anything of. But those ace Prime ones... They're absolutely stunning. The Pichardo Maduro is just stunning for a relatively small price as well.

Can you please suggest the best supplier to try these?

I've caught a few of them all so far with La Careme, Mil Dias 2021 and now Four Kicks 2021 😅

The ELs are usually very good, but the regular production is by no means any worse or less. The ELs are sometimes a bit dear, but still worth their money IMO.

However, with Crowned Heads, there's a wide spectrum of strength and flavour. Some, like the Four Kicks is rather strong and bold, while the Headley Grange for example is very mild and full of flavour.

Please give us a heads up when the Dalay comes out Nils. I'm pleased to see you didn't drown!

Will do. It'd be best to register for a box now though. Apparently they already have a ton of pre orders and said they'd have limited numbers left once they're out. So either pre order or order straight once they're out. I'll post here as soon as I find out more about the release date.

They'll have those hand sanded and waxed boxes like the last time. IMO it's box worthy for the box alone...
