I was thinking the exact same thing lol

Agreed with you about the Tupperdor idea regarding storage space... a relative of mine made a complete balls up by making that very mistake, he bought a few boxes of cigars thinking his humidor would hold the lot, but his plans crashed and burned when he recieved the cigars because he didn't take into account that he had purchased all Churchill sized cigars, which naturally reduces the potential stick ct storage space

I have used a large plastic 80L capacity storage box as a humidor and they can definitely hold plenty of stogies, (which is an option I'm considering on going back too and just selling the 2 Humidors I got now) but they can be a right pain to keep the humidity levels regulated

I think the individual coffins look really practical for posting the cigars in to me if you don't like them...

I agree that these definitely look like nice cigars, but there's no point in all that extra packaging, I'd prefer that boxes of cigars simply come in a well made and sealed cedar box with the label and that's it... all this individual boxes for each cigar may look nice, but it's not very practical and it just adds unneccessary expence to the price of the cigars.

    Jmho fwiw.

Seems strange that they go to so much trouble to produce the box & the individual coffins inside it & then suggest taking them out of the box & aging in the coffins in your humi. Are they assuming the buyers of this sort of product aren't likely to have a humi big enough to take the whole box? That would be the younger & more inexperienced smoker perhaps?

The other thing to consider is '$16.70 is between ?10.00- ?11.00 just a few for sale at cgars for around the same price are bolivar coronas extra, boli royal corona, siglo one, diplomaticos no.1 and 3 a RASS for a quid more and i could go on but i am sure you get the picture. Now i know sizes vary but i think for the price i would pick a cuban all day long

    Monkey66,

As you can see below, each individual cigar is actually contained within it's own 'Cedar Coffin' - just perfect for ageing, I guess...

Like it or not, that's classy...(I am a sucker for this sort of attention to detail...)

Fair point, mate. In that light, what's the recommendation for the Reyes (in terms of how long to keep them in their original 5 pack packaging)?

It always seem more about the bells and whistles than it does about the cigar in a lot of the US market.

    ** EDIT

By the way, I think they look amazing in that packaging...

And monkey66 - re: cardboard packaging; a 5 pack of Trini Reyes has each individual cigar in cellophane inside a cardboard box too...no different from the Camacho Liberty approach - and they're Cuban.

I also find the endless stream of nc limited editions confusing at best and cynical marketing at worst. Now i know cc's also suffer but nothing like the sheer volume hitting the US market.

I am suspicious of any stick that needs so much packaging.

Is that individual cardboard outers? ...probably not ideal for ageing.
