  • You're usually indoors in the pics So do you light up then go outside [MENTION=13442566]Paulie2876[/MENTION] ?

1st try of RDF today. Thankfully it's mild enough outside to enjoy it slowly.

Certainly enjoyable but I don't think I'll get any more.

I usually stand at the back door if the weather is not too bad or go into the shed when it's bad

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment as you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!

Had some Bosun cut plug earlier in my molina I got from gq, mlw really liked the room note with this. Needless to say I suggested indoor smoking, she didn't like the smell that much [emoji2]
I suddenly realise I'm very lucky here. MLW doesn't want cigar smoke in the house (fair enough really), but is cool with pipe smoke.

More bothy flake this evening, I definitely like it a lot.

It's a subtle one isn't it SJ. I dip into mine on occasions and jar time brings it along nicely. It'd be interesting to see your actual flakes. I had a batch last year that was a frankly insipid and even looked different to my previous. All over a bit lighter and I think they'd scrimped in the topping (or casing whatever it is)

                    • Had some Bosun cut plug in a pony express on the ferry home from Mull earlier today.

Not the greatest of days to be outside, but the view was nice

                      • Some Warhorse Bar and Falconry.

Have to say, I couldn't keep it bloody lit[emoji849] Continually went out on me and I gave up just after half way. It didn't seem wet when crumbling. I might pack more loosely next time, although it wasn't a tight pack at all, just crumbly.

Oh, and the block smells like Playdough[emoji23]

                        • In honour of my heritage, despite all kinds of weirdness today, I finished with a little bit of Bothy flake in a bent Dublin, and some cask strength Abelour with just enough spring water to open her up.

Here's to pipes, whisky, and Scotland, home to the water of life.

                          • Some Scotch Cake arrived today. It's a bit wet really, but first sampling suggests it'll be nice when I'm patient.
