  • It's not strong as in a kick in the mouth, on the contrary, it's very pleasant. The strength is in the nicotine but I've not found it to be the heavyweight it's said to be.
The taste is full, rounded, thick and smooth. A sumptuous tobacco to be smoked in front of a real fire and paired with an Islay malt whisky.

      • Well I try to do as much of my smoking in front of a fire that I can but unfortunately off the whisky or any other alcohol for now

        • Mellow Virginia today.... why oh why didn't I put the St Bruno in my pocket instead?

            • It's ok, a but hot burning though. Keeps threatening to bite.... not exactly full of flavour either.

There is quite a lengthy snuff thread on this forum somewhere, contributed mainly by myself and Vale Tudo Guy.
I was referring more to the strength of the menthol if that's the right descriptor. I personally find it a 'strong' hit overall, regardless of the nicotine content. I'd be interested to hear of a recommendation in the vitamin N department if you have one Mr C?

                  • Though it has a bit of a tang to it that is slightly promising.... to my completely uneducated thinking it could be good with the addition of something cooler burning and with a bit of depth of flavour. I think that could be dark Burley.

I might give a bit of a blend a go!

Viking Dark (available only at mysmokingshop) has a high nicotine content. It is not 'flavoured though, which is worth keeping in mind if you like the 'flavoured' snuffs.
Another heavy hitter is White Elephant (also only available at mysmokingshop), but is savage in every respect.
I invariably blend these with McChrystals Original, which is also good on nicotine, and perhaps a bench mark in snuff quality.
I've tried many snuffs but always return to McChrysts, which I spike with White Elephant.
I've found that sprinkling the WE onto Macs and pinching without mixing gives good results.

                      • Excellent, thanks. I've only had experience of two snuffs, the RBull and one I'll name when I get home. The latter is menthol-esque too, but a great deal less.

I'm all for exploring un-flavoured varieties, and shall be grabbing each of those suggested. Ah, more t'baccy products to sample.

I remember reading the snuff thread and a few of your comments about how particular snuffs were doing their thing for you and was always curious but my BM has a very limited range.
