Just about to fire up a bowl of Brown No. 4 twist in the Jolly Roger Buccanneer. A meaty, beaty, big and bouncy smoke. [emoji4]

          • Alright lads. I've 'unstuck' this thread to increase its visibility as on Tapacrap, it doesn't show readily. Hope this is OK?

Ah ha! Had a bowl in the cob at lunch, it was the weed of the hobbit.

Was that the 'blind' sample, or something else, James?

                        • also read a lot about hobbit weed, but I understand that the UK isn't a supplied country. anyone know if there is a reputable supplier?

very jealous, have a nasty head cold so pipes or cigars are pointless atm.

my new years resolution is to certainly try more pipe tobacco and expand my range of experiences

The humble St Bruno flake, da dah I remember talking to my old fella about pipes and tobacco a few years back, proudly showing off my fancy-pants, contemporary Wallenstein Jolly Roger pipe and some pokey, ropey twist or something, waiting for his admiration or praise. He checked both out and said "yeah, but they're crap really aren't they...you can't beat St Bruno...I'd having it hanging out my mouth all day (back in the day) if I could, even unlit" He is a bit old school and choice was limited back then (maybe not a bad thing)

Put me in my place and tbh, the St Bruno has a welcoming ol' flavour. It might not suit everyone, but for a mainstream tobacco, it's a goody in my eye

                              I'm glad you liked it

                              • St Bruno was always my grandads baccy of choice. I pick up a pouch every now and again as a nod to him. However I have to say it's a pleasant smoke.
