  • First bowl breaking in the Savinelli Petit. Using No. 6 shag and risking some slight ghosting in favour of a very controllable burn in such a delicate thing. It is transmitting all kinds of flavours almost wine like in the aftertaste, which is excellent and unexpected

    • Me again. The Sav Petit is so petit that a half bowl to break in is smaller than one of those baby corn cobs. So I've left her to cool off, and broken out big cob for some Dark Cherry Cavendish. If one ever doubts the "dark cherry", take a puff, exhale, then a mouthful of tea. It was... interesting.

Wassup SJ? How come it didn't go so well? The baccy or the pipe experience?

Never been a fan of Falcon pipes myself. I much prefer traditional briar pipes.

Probably due to a 'old' taste from the pipe itself, hoping 2nd smoke will be better.

                • Had a party D6 going into the woods, job done, some Ennerdale Flake in the Lovet on the way out. Left the Flakes to dry a bit over night out the jar with good results.

I've heard they can taste a bit funky SJ. Get a few bowls through it
