  • Prince Albert Tobacco

I've always been a fan of the classic Prince Albert Tobacco. The "Prince" is actually the Allday-Smoke in my family for generations.
The tobacco became unavailable due to changed EU regulations with reference to the aromatization. It was available in Switzerland, but they broke the import off.

Is the Prince Albert still available in UK (I'm asking, since this was a very popular brand)?

I don't think you can get it in the UK, a pipe forum I am a member of was asking about it. You can get it in the USA, so if you know anyone that is going that way they could pick you some up.

      Thanks for the reply!
Seems to be the only solution for this problem. I'm still wondering, which additives led to the ban of this particular tobacco...

No idea on what aditives would have stopped it being sold. Check out smokers fourm as it is a pipe forum, you may be able to trade for some.

            Thanks for the link.
I found out which substance stopped the import: Komorin. Banned in Europe.

What is komorin? I can find no reference to it anywhere.

after further looking. I think the English translation may be Coumarin, Which is found in tonquin beans. These are also used to flavour 1792 flake. So is it worth tying this toby?

I may be completely wrong though.

1792 and Prince Albert are not at all similar. Tonquin is like vanilla on steroids (in a very good way - but is an acquired taste) whereas PA is just a mild burley.

I've never tried PA so was making a wild assumption.

The main point I was making was that the nearest I could find was explained above and that it is a banned additive in some countries.

Sorry for the misdirection about flavour.
