however, mine is absolutely fantastic. I have the clipped end of a Monte GR saved up and am going to love whatever accompanies that...

yes! i have!!
Dalmore 12. infuse most of the tobacco with that and dessicate it again. smooths out the tobacco and makes it less harsh

moving on: pipes are absolutely brilliant. But you've gotta find your zen.
i basically only smoke 3 things in pipes:
-Davidoff English / Blue
-Peterson's various blends (including Christmas. love Christmas.)
-Jeremy's homemade Cuban pipe tobacco

The latter consists of 3 things:

I liken it to fruit teas that smell wonderful and taste like shit. I recently tried a friend's pipe with some vanilla and apricot tobacco called Melange. Smelled wonderful, tasted like ....

I have to agree, I have a few blends they all smell good enough to eat, but the smoke tastes nothing like the smell
