great start, I liked erinmore when I first started too, I have almost 20 jars with various blends in now ( pound shop lever jars for the win) but always seem to like the more sweeter/vanilla scents.

currently smoking a tin of Samuel gawith Christmas mixture... just delicious.

some blends give much more smoke than others, and all have various tastes with them too and those tobacco tastes will change with each pipe too, enjoy your first steps into a very wonderful world of limitless possibilities

Don't you find Samuel gawiths tobacco's too moist
that's the reason I stopped buying their tobacco.

hi Tony. yup they can be moist. but I leave the tin open for a few hrs and mix it around a bit, it really helps for the first few bowls after that the drying process in the tin just ticks along, if its really moist ill pop it into a pouch and in 1-2 days its generally perfect. plus as a side line the smell from the tin of Christmas mixture made the whole house smell of Christmas puddings, even the missus was happy !!

I was thinking of getting a corncob pipe for exactly this sort of thing. I only found out what Ghosting was the other day!

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment as you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!

love my corn cob, its a bit hillbilly but the taste and coolness is very different to the briar, sadly they don't last forever

happy days the kilner jars are good, so are the screwtop jam jars they do, all of them are airtight and if kept out of sunlight and direct heat the tobacco will last for decades

yes, strong cinnamon, clove and brandy, just like inhaling a Christmas pudding smell. the taste through the smoke is more clove than anything else, but the room note is excellent
and this is one of the few I'm "allowed" indoors with lol

great looking pipe, I have some cheap ones and old estate pipes and the same tobacco tastes very different, give it time, learn how to pack it correctly and soon you will hit a consistency of flavour. until then it is a bit hit and miss.
what type of tobacco did you get ?

Nice looking pipe. Appears to have a nice grain from that picture. Good shape too.

Tbh I let the tobacconist pick the baccy. It's so far removed from cigars the whole experience is different.

I enjoyed it however for me the cigars experience will always be better.

Saying that I am Def after a better pipe...I like the look of the Peterson pipes.
