That double finish actually looks really good! (aside from reminding me of Two-face from Batman a bit...)

That's a nifty pipe! It has two characters depending on which side you look at it from. But the character is lead by the qualities of the briar... I like that.

          ?~~~~?~~~~?~~~~?~~~~?

Cigars are vegetarian, we should all remember that. We're *being* healthy!

Can I ask the technique used to get the "rustic" side looking so good Paulie, fantastic job, you must be really pleased with how it's turned out!

The rusticated part was done with a dremel, the rest by hand

Cheers Jim, it smokes remarkably well for a cheap pipe, I smoked it enough to form a little cake 2 thirds of the way up the chamber before deciding to change it

Tis a beautiful thing. I guess it's an obvious thing, but it must be more "grippy" and tactile now.

As to a cheapie pipe, it does seem that price and smokeability, in my admittedly very limited experience, do not correspond in a linear fashion. Corn cobs are the chief example, cheap(est?), but versatile and very good smokes. I'm also reliably told that a good Parker (though kind of a separate entity these days, and not always a second/failing) is a good percentage as good as a Dunhill at a fraction of the cost. Frankly I think I'd be flat out scared smoking a pipe worth too much in case I dropped it.

By the by, it smokes well, it looks good, it's totally unique, and it wasn't expensive. It's almost a grail pipe! :-) Nice going indeed.

Is there a special stain for pipes excuse my ignorance as I'm thinking of sanding and staining a cheap estate pipe I bought
