Thanks for the recomendations ill have a look for them plum pudding sounds interesting!. got a tin of petersons connoisseurs choice on the way so really looking forward to that. can you recommend any tobacco retailers? Been looking at tobacco online but they have a minimum order of 1100 gram...seems a bit steep to me! but they do have a great choice

    In for a penny

So I was kindly gifted a starter set by a botl on the forum. I had some issues with the pipe but enjoyed the experience so thought I would treat myself to something new.

Browsing cgars I quickly realised how expensive pipes can be but I stumbled across the Mr Brog range..too cheap to be good I thought?! But after a quick search for reviews it's clear they are pretty well regarded..I went for the cherry bent

Anyway pipe and mystery pouch arrived yesterday and i settled into my first proper bowl

My fist attempts saw the pipe go out continuously..slightly harsh smoke and quite dry on the tongue

I don't have much to compare to but this pipe smoked so much better it's chalk and cheese

Packed it, false light and proper light and the bowl never saw a flame again.

Smooth cool smoke..nutty, almost creamy with a nice bitter finish that didn't linger..just brilliant!

Now I'm looking at all the different tobaccos and the choice is mind boggling! Found one in particular that I don't thinks available in the UK. Autumn evening by Cornell & Diehl...does anyone have some spare! [emoji23]
