Bought a bunch of English blends in samples, to try. So tried this one first, in my Missouri pipe the smell is very sweet far sweeter than I would have expected yes with a smoky wood aroma and a slight sour note.
As this is considered a lighter blend I'm not expecting this smell to massively translate into flavour. Pack very well, light incredibly well only 3 relight for the entire bowl.
The first thing is the smoky wood, followed by a fruity stone fruit with the typical pepper but only very mildly on the retro the pepper becomes much more baker spice though I couldnt put my finger on what
Its a very nice smoke a solid 45 minutes of sweet spice sour pepper and fruitiness, its is however not a strong smoke, the tin note certainly stronger than the flavour though that is to be expected. Its still flavourful and medium on the nic hit my previous experience with the Bayou range tells me its about right.
My other samples include Bayou Night, Bayou Sunday Picnic, and Peterson Early Morning Pipe. So will see how this compares with the others but on it's on this is a great smoke a great way for someone to get into English blends.
Solid 4/5
