Got this in a little sampler, as I loved Sunday Picnic so much I decided to give this a whirl to see how their straight Virginia compared to my favourite straight Virginia HH Pure.
So tin note (bag note) is very grassy hay sweet with a touch of citrus and a tangy hit to the smell, its broken flake as is typical for Cornell & Diehl it packs well and lights very easily only requiring a few relights 3 total. So flavour out the gate is grassy hay then boom a dab of raisin-like sweetness, normal for Virginia and then citrus almost lemon like quality tang followed by a baker ginger-like spice just a touch.
But what's surprising is this all comes at once in the exhale and through to the retro and thats consistent throughout, nothing diminishes or becomes more prominent its a balance of all these flavours all flowing complementary after each other its delicious, easy going smoke that really is pleasant its not the fruitiest or sweetest Virgina thats still HH pure, but its up there in terms of straight Virginia blends that I have, that being said this will bite if you push it hard like many Virginias will and it can get cigarette like when you do that. So slow and steady the usual advice for a straight Virginia, really or heck even just a reasonable pace and you will get a very rewarding smoke. Worth a try if you like and enjoy straight Virginias and I enjoyed this more than Full Virginia Flake
