Arf that is a decent dram at a good price (imho). Distillery Bowmore is usually quite smooth and at 46% it should have some depth.
?25 is less than I have seen it.
Had one wee snifter last night. Very smooth, peaty, dry warming, difficult to tie down the fruitier/floral tastes .... but I really like it .... and I don't know if it's my imagination but the taste is still lingering this morning. I think I got a bargain for once!
Sorry, I forgot to mention .... Tesco's is where I got it.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
Bowmore Small Batch Reserve ?25 on Special. Not had it before, so hope I've not done something too silly?
Considering in Canada, the Bowmore 18 is over 3 times more expensive than this, you got a wicked buy.
Normal bowmores are not as complex at all. But the other shite their stills pump out is quite worth trying. I do like the dark 15year old but many of my mates really don't. Bowmore i found has never been very consistent...... Probably why I've never enjoyed it as much...

as much as i can see your point....... you gotta put it into perspective!! it's ?25 (it's usually in the ?35 range), most whiskies in this price range are blends!! as you yourself pointed out, you're paying roughly 3 times more than us!!! i'd happily pay ?25 for it, even ?35 and enjoy it!! it's never gonna be complex like an 15 or 18 year old........ and i'd never expect it to be!! ?25 for a single malt is more than respectable!!!
No idea, I need educating on all things Whiskey...so let me know!
hey deano, you could do a lot worse than this!! ?25 is a good price, it's the same price as johnny walker black label at the moment, difference is, JW is ?3 off, bowmore is ?10 off!! i'm working my way around the islay single malts and so far i've loved everyone of them!! the bowmore was something i never really bothered thinking about until now!!
and if you want a decent education in whisky, check out www.ralfy.com, his youtube videos are a great source of information and education!!
bollox......... just back from tescos, her indoors was gonna buy me it, all there was was an empty space and the reduced label on the shelf!! better luck tomorrow i guess.......
