Never had a Bruichladdich. Bourbon is my drink...so you could imagine my reaction to my first real peaty islay whisky! I have enjoyed my Laphroaig quarter cask...but it's stuck around much longer than any bottle of Woodford reserve or Bulliet that I've had!

Try your hand at the bruichladdich. It's not very peaty for an islay,
Especially if you get anything older than the 15YO. It really isnt bad at all then. Laddie 15, laddie 20, or 16 YO bourbon cask. Try your hand at the 16 YO bourbon cask, methinks Itd be around ?50MAX there

Have to say Bushmills 10 y/o is my preferred whiskey - usually stock up via irish ferries (always seem to have good deals) when we visit the in-laws, saying that this time I got a bottle of Connemara Peated Irish Whiskey to try, I didn't think I'd like it, there's only a glass or two left

Will have to try the 16 yo a go, glad I'm not the only one who likes a drop of the good stuff from ireland, seems very bourbon/scotch-centric around these parts
