cheers guys, lots of decent recommendations! i've heard good things about four roses puff, so i'll keep my eyes open for it! the reason why i mentioned makers mark is that it's about a tenner cheaper than the reast mentioned, as i said it's ?20 at my local off license, woodford reserve is ?30, as is four roses!

    cheers,

    alex

Damn. That should be the price of my Wild Turkey 12.
As a man who enjoys Cragganmore, which do you recommend now?? 4R or woodford? They're both should be around $80 here

          YO!!!

Bourbon is almost all I drink. I usually stick to either Jim Beam Black Label, Gentleman Jack or my all time favourite, Maker's Mark!!!

I second the Rowan's Creek and Noah's mill suggested Above and would thrown in Bakers small batch too. You can't substitute for quality however and Pappy Van Winkle is definitely worth saving the pennies for, I've got the 15 and 23 and they are both fantastic.

lol, yeah i was thinking the same thing here puff!! i don't mind spending over ?30 (sometimes ?100+) on good irish or scotch single malt! bourbon though, i wouldn't spend over ?30...... well not yet anyway!! like i said, i saw maker's mark at my local off license for ?20 and it got me interested!! the others mentioned, such as woodford reserve, knob creek, buffalo trace, four roses etc are around ?30....

So now i've got the option of two bottles:
                      Four Roses Single Barrel
                      OR
                      Bowmore 12

Personally, i've never tried the Bowmore as Bruichladdich and Laphroaig have been my islays ever since i can remember so Bowmore has just never come up.
But now the 12 year old child has come on sale and i am seriously considering it...... They're both 46 dollars though (30 quid). That is probably the cheapest i've EVER seen my whiskeys go for. Especially how my go-to cragganmore normally costs $90 (56quid)

Firstly I have noticed your "OR"...but why not both bottles if your "go to" is $90.. & I also have difficulty advising anyone on whisky who regards Aberlour as "shite"..

You know, fuck it. You're right. I'll get both.
Also, I applause your memory but methinks its just me. Even my mates who tried it says it's not bad......
