ELIJAH CRAIG 12 YEAR OLD!!

based on the recommendations of some of you fine fellows here, i bought the elijah craig 12 year old this evening!! it was either that or four roses small batch, but alas there was only the elijah craig!!

i'll be cracking it open in a hour or so with a bolivar gold medal, so i'll post my thoughts here later!!

hey all,
due to domestic problems (me and 'er indoors has called it quits), i haven't had a chance to put my thoughts on this up yet!! here's a brief summary: the best bourbon i've tried yet, much prefer it to maker's mark, woodford reserve!! for me, it was very smooth with a lovely long finish!! flavour wise, it lies somewhere between a nice cognac (yes, this took me by surprise too) and spiciness of southern comfort!! great stuff and highly recommended!! i'll do a proper summary when i get a chance........

nice choice mate, try it in an old fashion! (rocks glass, cube of white sugar, 2-3 dashes of bitters, crush up sugar, fill with ice, 50ml bourbon, stir for 3-5mins, add a slice of lemon and orange), it is amazing!

I think the Elijah Craig 12 yo is a fantastic example of 12 yo bourbon the 47% alc makes it very balanced and a great sipper it's very rich robust but also very soft and supple with amazing length
