I have a few rum bottles just about to finish so I'm looking for something else....I like cockspur...may try the 12yr old. The tasting notes I've read sound great....cigar tabacco mentioned....and love the oak taste of the normal cockspur.

Yep, Cockspur is a decent rum. Have you tried the Appleton 12 that RCH posted above? I really like it, especially for the price.

Ask Mark, he enjoyed some at mine last week but didn't find it as smooth as the Santaiago de Cuba that preceded it.

I can't find much out about it, what little I can find suggests it has some link to Ernest Hemingway and is an excellent sipping rum.

A 2010 post on this forum by a poster called Cigar-aficionado waxes lyrical about it.
