Nice where did you get the sample from....is that's the really expensive bourbon? Heard a lot about it...never tried it though.

    • From an incredibly generous BOTL.

If it?s anything like the Pappy 15 that he sent it?ll be ridiculously smooth, which is why I went for the Weller?s as they?re both wheated bourbon from the same distillery.

      • Never tried this brand before, I'll be giving it a go over the weekend

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment as you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!

        • I have just opened my first bottle of Auchentoshan American Oak - so far very nice - I like the 12 year old as well and is a good staple malt. Also got a bottle of Coal Ila and some glenfiddich 12 year.

Picked up the Talisker skye and storm sampler set as well recently so looking forward to trying that as well.

Now just need to add a bottle of bunnahabhain and a lagavulin 16 to the above

          • Just throwing this one out there. Tried this at the weekend as was a revelation to me - if you liker sweeter whisky the Glendronach 12 year is fantastic, aged in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks. Just wish I'd been able to have a stick with it

                      • I’ve built up a nice collection of Ardbeg committee releases. Two of the bottles are particularly special, Ardbeg 1974 Single Cask and a Lord Of The Isles.

I need to get it valued, any idea how?

                        • If you type in whisky auction online there are several sites where you can get your bottles valued or view past auction sales.

                            • On Friday night, I had a couple of Laguvulin 16yr old, had been some time since I'd had one and I remembered just how much I enjoy Islay whisky.
