I have the nespresso lattissima which turns out latte and cappuccino at the press of a button. I would definitely recommend it although I miss the " messing around with variables" of a grinder and decent machine.

Thanks for the advise guys, I was thinking of a wee tester machine for the Nespresso, an Inissia Coffee Machine with an Aeroccino by Magimix, good price from John Lewis. I was also looking at the capsules available from other makers like Fine Coffee Club, there seems to be a reasonable choice for the capsules now...

Similar thread on another forum and I think the conclusion was Aeropress and a Dualit milk frother was the best combo without spending serious cash. I've tried an aeropress and I didn't really enjoy it so would personally go for an Italian style stove top espresso maker (bialetti, i think). You say you've got your own grinder already, so that covers that. Now just get some decent beans..! I use a company called Pact who do a subscription/delivery service - highly recommended (no affiliation other than as a happy customer), I'm pretty sure there are quite a few good ones out there though.

does the job just as well. I have both and the big unit rarely comes out of the cupboard anymore.
You just put milk in the mug, blast it in the microwave and blend it to a foam with that little whisk. Takes less than a minute including heating in the microwave which gets it much hotter than the stand alone unit which only gets it a bit warm.Licky Licky before Sticky Sticky. - Puff Scotty 22/03/14
