    Hi there,

The Whisky Exchange stocks it. Be careful though as the bottling was changed in 2008 and the newer version is more expensive at about ?35 than the pre 2008 bottles. If you can find a pre 2008 then grab it with both hands. The ones at TWE are post 2008.

Looks like they only have one outlet: in London. Online it appears they only have the new bottles for sale...

No, but sounds like something I will need to get my hands on when I start getting to the end of this current bottle of 16yr.

Can recommend the 88 or 91 Paulie, both are well worth buying if you are a fan. Some of the specialists shops still keep them.

                or make your own?

Also, try it with Canada Dry.

Thanks for the info Dave! I'm always on the look-out for new versions! I bought two bottles in Lincoln (both new to me) and the first I tried was pretty poor...weak/watery.

Never tried it with Canada Dry though - will remedy soon Love it with tonic too

Have you tried the Plymouth Sloe Gin Stevieboy? It's not as good as their gin, but it slides down quite nicely. Though Dave's link for homemade is the best one - there's just something that makes homemade the way of choice for sloe gins.

The most interesting sloe gin mix I had was on an overnight train through France. There were about ten of 'us' on the train in various couchettes. We all met up for a wee little party into the wee small hours (much to every French person's annoyance ).

One of the guys had a large hip flask of sloe gin and brandy. We all looked quizically at him (it sounded like a vile concoction). He passed it around. He didn't have any by the time we had reached the resort.

The only Sloe Gin (Gordons) I have tried was homemade, really liked it although I did find you could only have one or two as to me it did taste slightly medicinal...!?!

                      Or is that just me...?

                      Cheers, HabanoSy

Confession - I'm also into Underbergs when I have had a heavy meal. For any of you who have not had the chance to try the little green bottles wrapped in brown paper, be prepared to have your brains blown. Tonnes of herbs and spices, now *that* is medicine for you!

Blimey Duncan, that looks like it's worth a go. Is it difficult to find? I've never heard of it before!

I dont really drink much these days like I used to probably as I havent found something I really like.
I used to drink a lot of whisky a few years back and used to enjoy most of the glenmorangie range and Isle of Jura.

I once went to a expensive whisky tasting evening at the Sheraton hotel Edinburgh, which was probably wasted on me a bit as I didnt really understand much about it.

If I was out now and I had to choose a spirit I would probably go for something like a calvados.
