Something like this (brought back for me from the US a few months ago)?Originally posted by Soulmanure View PostI've had this, but was none too impressed. I prefer a good tumbler of Woodford for an everyday drink: http://www.woodfordreserve.com/Default.aspx
Or my new find, Blanton's: http://www.blantonsbourbon.com/DefaultFlash.aspx
Blanton's is as smooth as it gets, and full of complexity. Woodford is a vanilla bomb and just damn good generally.Attached Files

I agree that Noah's Mill is an excellent bourbon, as is Woodford's Reserve.
I think I need a drink!

I've heard many good things about this bourbon. I really must give it a try.
PS. Nothing wrong with a dash of ginger ale...

Geroge Dickel.
Totally agree Deano.Tried a few of the lesser known US releases over the years and I am sure I tried this one in Spain a number of years ago.
Another one to look out for and one of the best IMO is George Dickel.Their distillery is around 16 miles from the JD distillery, but they produce a far superior product to the No7 JD.
Difficult to get unless you go to a specialist retailer, but worth trying.

Noah's Mill Bourbon
My favourite - found by my Dad and gifted to me several times now, about ?50 a bottle.
"Aged in wooden barrels, bottled by hand at 57.15% alc./vol. (114.3 proof) Noah?s Mill Genuine Bourbon Whiskey is handmade in the hills of Kentucky.
This is a Bourbon of extraordinary character and smoothness not found among younger whiskies. Its superior taste and flavor characteristics are made possible only from using the very finest quality ingredients at the outset along with the long years and patience necessary for nature to mellow everything to perfection. We bottle this Bourbon at a strength that best compliments its age, and we?re sure you?ll enjoy it like no other Bourbon."

Absolutely stunning bourbon. I take with a little weak ginger ale as I'm a bit of a poof.Tags: None
