Ok, been thinking about this and I think you may struggle a little for a good single malt under ?20, unless you come across a good deal in a shop or supermarket.
For a few pounds more however you could get:
Macallan 1999 at ?22.99.
Very good brand and has a hint of smokeyness about it wth good deep flavours.
Isle of Jura 10yr at ?21.99
Also hints of smoke and very smooth, not as deep as the Macallan and has a sweet/salt thing going on. Easy to drink this one.
Between the two I would pay the little extra and get the Macallan. Are you limited to ?20 as I can have a look about the places I use to see what they have at that level.
"Come in here, dear Boy, have a cigar" ....Roger Waters (Pink Floyd)
Hey jimmy (what an intro for a whisky thread) I like the sound of that. The spelling has a Vietnamese ring to it
No probs. I got an Aberlour Glenliver from Odbinns a couple of months ago for 18.99! It was delicious but didn't last long enough! Even my wife liked it!
Kinda explains the disappearance.....
No man has the right to fix the boundary of a nation.
No man has the right to say to his country, "Thus far shalt thou go and no further."
It is definitely a great name. I remember first trying it at a blind tasting, where it was about the fourth or fifth sample, and general opinion being that it was worth two or three times the price.
