My first experience of Lagavulin 16 was in Chapter Arts Centre. All their malt whiskies are the same price (?3.50 at that time) so I thought it worth a go. I found it interesting as the aroma seemed to change considerably as the glass warmed in my hand. Quite oily I found, in a good way.
I've still got some of a bottle left that my brother got me for my birthday. I don't intend to be without!

ALL OF THEM!? This could get expensive... I picked up my first ever bottle of Bruichladdich from there yesterday at a grand total of ?18.97. I'll be back in there to stock up with more. Incidentally, I also grabbed a bottle of Piper-Heidsieck for only ?14!

Website says 25% of single malts think it finishes 13/12/10 around 30 to choose from

I finally got around to trying the Lag 16 year last night at an industry awards dinner. Very peaty, tons of smoke and lovely mouth feel.
Thankfully it was a fully expensed night as the Grosvenor were charging ?15 a pop for any vaguely decent whisky.

I may well have to go and get a bottle.

distillers edition is beautiful!! one of my go-to special treats

I adore Laga 16 and always have a bottle open! Personally I'm not a fan of the sherried distillers bottling, I find it a compromise....
the 12 year old, however, is fantastic (like the younger, slightly less couth, brother!); cask strength too which always helps.
Caol Ila 12 cask strength is another belter, as is Laphroaig 10 cask strength (this one takes no prisoners!).....
