Saying that, the bottle of Talisker I bought i never enjoyed at all tbh, dont know why but i did not enjoy it.
However i revisited it a few months ago and rather enjoyed it.
Think its down to if you have went into it expecting something, then getting something totally different, you wont enjoy it. Probably something to do with not being able to enjoy what youve been given rather what youve been expecting.

      Meh, i dunno.

      :mmmmm ardbeg:
I agree, the first time I tried Talisker, I didn't like it either. I found it to be very rough on the palette, even though I like the peatiness of other malts, particularly Islay malts - when I came back to it a couple of years later, I found that I was totally converted. I love it now....

        More whisky / whiskey!

Another very smooth whisky that comes in on budget (just!!) and goes with a wide range of cigars is the Penderyn Mediera finish. I don't know how many of you have tried this whisky - or whiskEy rather as it is not a Scottish malt!!, but it is well worth a go. I am currently working my way through a bottle of the peated variant, although this is over budget.

Another whisky that Morrisons have in for a very good price (around ?18)is the Ledaig 10 year old...Islay malt, very peaty - in fact, blow your socks off peaty.....tremendous value for money and well worth a punt in my opinion....

Yeah i totally snuffed The Balvennie due to the fact when i was living in Aberdeen for a while, the place i was working only had that. And they were putting it over the bar dirt cheap so kinda stuck my nose up at it. Dont know why, im not usually like that lol.

                  HA !
To me its just a middle of the road malt, nothing tantalising about it, nowt to make me want to buy a bottle for sure.
I wouldnt go out my way to grab a bottle Tip my man.
