I'm off to enjoy the dying sun with a lemon tea and an LGC m?daille d'or #3.
Very nice, been nice here in Devon all day and now, when I'm ready to light up the heavens have opened.. So no cigar for me tonight by the looks of it..
I'll have one for you dale! I hAve sunshine and it'll be a light drink as the mrs is going out so I have a P2 waiting for 7.15pm when I begin the lighting ceremony
Technically today... at around five minutes past midnight I lit up a RyJ Short Churchill alongside the crew of Eclipse, who had finished the Rolex Fastnet Race about twenty-two hours before hand (and had not slept since!) Thankfully I had enjoyed a quiet night when the finished, as I wasn't providing regular met forecasts from my position as absent-Nav... There's a picture of us somewhere, though I haven't seen it yet.

Many thanks bud, but as the roast lamb has now been well and truly eaten the rain has decided give me a break...
Just had a very enjoyable evening in Moseley, Birmingham. Had a very tasty curry in The Jewel in the Crown and then headed to The Prince of Wales for a couple of pints of Old Rosie cider and a Monte petit edmundo. I hadn't smoked one of these before this evening but it was really very tasty with lovely big puffy clouds of smoke. Not a bad way to end the day!
Had friends around this evening - the best company a man could want
Started with a bottle of DP 'Warhol', followed by a Bollinger RD...
Flippin' superb starter (chilli infused tiger prawns on a bed on rocket) with a bottle of Portuguese Crasto 'Douro' and a Cailifornian 'Wente' chardonnay.
Main course was (predictably) an oven-baked Rib-eye joint accompanied with pan-fried Gnocchi and spinach...and a bottle of '06 Duckhorn Cab-Sav...quickly followed by '03 Chamolle Musigney and an '07 Lemelson 'Thea's Selection'...flippin gorgeous.
Berry's and cream for desert with ripened Brie, Manchego and cold, hard, mature English Cheddar to round off...
I grabbed a quick ERdM DT as a night cap and I'm finishing off the 'Thea's' as I write...a fantastic night
I have no idea what half of that means Steve I caught steak and prawns but I'm a heathen. Either way sounds like you were in bliss so fair play to you especially the Demi tasse
Cheers
