Seriously??!! It's been as wet as a Haddock's speedo here but nothing like that! That is a classic arcing connection where the live has a poor fit/connection. Then little sparks start jumping; often making the connection worse. Real fire hazard in a shed.
Splash out on a external rated lead for its replacement.
