Am I the only one who thinks the monte No 2 is over rated? I've smoked a few from different boxes but they just don't do it for me...It doesnt even sit in my top 20 or top 50

personally prefer the partagas No 2 when it comes to a torpedo

Sounds like you may be smoking counterfeits, senor Kdot. After all, the Monty No. 2 is probably one on the most counterfeited puros in the world.

IMO, a well aged Monty 2 is a fabulous puro.

I'd smoked it too soon after receiving it I think. Burn too uneven for my liking and not as rich as the last one was (not same batch). I'm under the impression this means it needed to rest in the 'dor for a while longer. I'll leave the others for a month or two.

Kind of have to side with my Tartan Hombre on this one TJ. I do love a Monte #2 but it's WAAAAAAY over-rated. The P2, Dippy 2, RA Beli & BBF are all better (IMHO you understand...)

That's a good point, Mr. Kdot. The Monty 2s are also rolled in different factories, which impacts the quality and consistenty of the puro.

To be honest, I too have had some Monty 2s that were good, but not that good, probably for any or all of the above reasons.

But the ones I have in my humi now are not that old, but they are delovely and delicious, amigo. And I'm lovin' 'em!

I always thought the Monte 2 suffered from being a bit mass produced, guess its supply and demand... there are definately inconsistencies...even between the not so good ones.
