Just about to spark up my first Monte No. 2! (i know, how exciting!!), Oh how i have been holding back, teetering on the edge more than once to go steaming in, lighter a blazing and gloriously light up this bad boy, but teeter no more...that's it, i shall hold back no more............
You always remember your first Monte No 2, well at least I will, hell of a cracker! Smoked it in a 'Western theme bar, with my mate Paul, in the Belgian country side before a 5km midnight hike. A few beers & the Monte & I was up for it; the aftertaste lasted the whole evening. I have had good ones since but that experience & intensity is unlikely to be replicated.

...agree on all accounts! My faith in Cubans is being restored (after several dirty little plugged blighters) ...slowly...and deliberately protractedly...an absolute fantastic smoke ...and the best news still got plenty to go!!
True stories all! My first Monte 2 was like smoking the finest and creamiest vanilla ice cream! I've chased that in them ever since and never found it.I wonder almost if it's a case of when you're new you have no expectations and so you're very much open to the cigar doing what it wants to do and if you maybe lose that openness as you go,another debate entirely though.Glad you're enjoying yours

that really was an hour and forty of pure bliss (right at the beginning i thought maybe a little too full bodied but nooooo, turned out just perfect, right down to my bare knuckles )...lucky ol' me, i got 3x of Mitch, 2x left hopefully they will all be equally as good!...looking forward to the right moment when the Dip No, 2 will be smoked!!!

Ooooo I love a good Dip2/monte 2 comparison. I'm pretty much on my own but I think Dip wins hands down
Whoooooo those are some big words haha
No actually, if I was compare every Petit corona I have ever had with the Dip 4...the Dip would win hands down....I'll have to give the Dip 2 another go
I remember my first Monte 2, one of the first proper Cubans I smoked and it blew me away, but I'm in the minority now as my tastes have changed and all the Montecristo sampled recently have failed to rock my boat, a Dippy 2 on the other hand ........ bliss
