Lol. I have been a huge Fritz Lang fan for ages but have been putting off his silent films (except for Metropolis) for ages. I was always afraid that they would be out dated, boring and they are very long (the first Mabuse film is nearly 5 hours long).

Well, I was quite surprised when I watched this film. It was quite modern, some scenes are of sheer beauty and can be compared to classic art. I remembered a little of the Nibelungen Lied from school but it's quite enjoyable like all those classic myhts, stories and plays. Will try to watch part 2 today which is a little shorter than part 1.

Since you enjoy that ballpark, what about Danish filmmaker Carl T. H. Dreyer?

Well, he's definitely on the to watch list. Especially Vampyr. Not too sure about The Passion of Joan of Arc. The film makes it on all the 100 best films of alkl time lists but I fear that it might be a little to religious for me. I might be wrong about thinking that though. But those overly religious films are just not my cup of tea.
