Well it?s a bit of a strange one this. I couldn?t decide what to try but finally decided to take one of my NC?s from a very small stock!
A 4 year old Opus X. Peeled off the cedar wrap and silk cover and thought at first that someone might have beaten me to it.....
After removing the cap I was amazed to see that this ?anomaly? went throughout the cigar:
After a chat with Mike, he suggested that perhaps some Maduro wrapper had been rolled in to the cigar. It?s definitely a lot harder than the surrounding filler. Has anyone ever seen this before?
In the end I went with a Boli Tesoro - also from Gojira!
If it opens up a bit it?s going to be good...!

Really weird. I?ve never seen something like this before.

There's a special way to ferment tobacco, tightly bound with strings into smaller batches. The pressure is so high that it fuses it together and is then cut before rolled. I doubt the Opus X uses that though.
Had a virtual herf with a mate who is a new father - I sent him a cgars nc 'best dad' stogie that he was very chuffed with. Monte (#2?) from grumpybaldy - solid stick. Not a flavour yum bomb but burned and smoked beautifully, nice and long. 20200425_173400.jpg
Looks good but did you ever try the PL Lonsdale Mike? Excellent smoke & I can't see this corona matching it, going by the one I tried shortly after release but I am hoping to be proved wrong.

I like the Coronas but I never had the Lonsdale Simon. It's high on my to try list but it isn't an easy one to find.
